About the Event

The 2025–2026 Pioneer Youth Elite International Classical Invitational Cup is a brand-new, invitation-only online chess tournament designed to showcase some of the most promising young talents in the world. Ten rising stars face each other over ten classical rounds in a tightly controlled, anti-cheat environment.

This first edition sets the foundation for a long-term project: establishing a benchmark youth event with strict selection standards, professional conditions even online (LockDown secure browser and camera monitoring), and full international coverage.

  • 10-round Swiss system with a 3-minute-per-move limit (no overall time).
  • Played entirely online with LockDown-style anti-cheat and live supervision.
  • Non-FIDE-rated: results do not affect official FIDE Elo, but games follow FIDE Laws of Chess.
  • Average rating around 2419 Elo.

Format & Awards

  • System: 10-round Swiss, with pairings generated by professional Swiss software.
  • Scoring: Standard 1–½–0 scoring system.
  • Tiebreaks: Sonneborn–Berger, Direct encounter, then Buchholz if needed.
  • Champion Title: “Pioneer Youth Cup Champion 2025–2026”.
  • Awards: No monetary prizes in this inaugural online edition; players compete for title, prestige, and experience.
  • Special Digital Awards: Best Game, Fighting Spirit, and Best Preparation (certificates / online recognition).

Time Control & Playing Schedule

  • Time Control: No overall time limit; each move must be played within 3 minutes (per-move limit).
  • Games: 1 round per day online; rest days decided by organizer.
  • Start Time: To be announced (server time).
  • Platform & Anti-Cheat: LockDown-style secure browser, camera & screen monitoring, fair-play checks.

Regulations

General

  • Event is not FIDE-rated; games follow FIDE Laws but are not submitted for rating.
  • Players must connect from a quiet environment with reliable internet, camera and microphone.
  • LockDown-style browser, screen sharing and required camera angles are mandatory.
  • No phones or external devices during games unless approved by arbiters.

Fair Play

  • No engines, databases or outside assistance of any kind.
  • Organizers may run statistical fair-play checks and request extra verification.
  • Serious violations may lead to disqualification and ban from future editions.

Broadcast & PGN

  • Games may be broadcast live on selected platforms and streams.
  • PGNs will be published after each round, subject to fair-play review.
